What to know about video generation
Every model here turns a prompt, a still, or another clip into moving pictures. The numbers that decide whether one is usable are duration and resolution, and both are held back by the same thing: a video model tokenises space and time together, so cost grows faster than the length of the clip. Expect caps measured in seconds rather than minutes, and read each licence separately — this is the category where open weights and territorial restrictions collide most often.
Duration and resolution, side by side
Only the models whose vendor publishes a figure appear here. "Not established" means no page we could retrieve stated one.
